Mission

The Community Health Center exists to share the love of God by providing non-emergency medical, dental, and eye care to those who do not have access to health care services, and assist them in establishing a continuum of care through conventional health care systems to promote a healthy body, mind and spirit.

Who We Serve

The Community Health Center seeks to serve those who are without health insurance. In 2010 there were over 250,000 people in Palm Beach County without health insurance. These people generally fall into three groups- the homeless, the working poor, and the undocumented.

Our History

The Community Health Center began as a First Baptist Church of West Palm Beach ministy. Our founders saw the need in the community for healthcare and decided to start a ministry that would help individuals in the area obtain badly needed healthcare. In its beginings the health center saw over 10,000 patients per year. The need of the health care can be seen when in 2005 Hurricane Willma destroyed its 2,000 sq. ft. facility. Despiste this, the center moved to a small building.  During 2006 and 2007, in light of extreme space constraints and limited volunteer/staff resources, the center still successfully provided over 5,400 patient visits in 2006 . In 2008 the center reorginized itself to become a seperate entity and moved to our current location which is a 6,000 sq. ft facility. Through obstacles and hardships the Community Health Center has risen to the challenge of meeting the need for healthcare.
